New RIA FS 5" 1911 followed me home the other week --rubber grips n' all. They're not bad... Summers in Atlanta are a bit on the 'warm' side of the meter, so every tactile bit of grip I can get when sweat is running between my fingers is only a good thing.
Secondly, my hands are not.... um...
Thank you everyone for the hearty welcome!! I have already ordered a 'tweak' or 2 in parts and await their delivery. I'll hop over to another forum to ask more questions of where to go for additional "goodies".
Thanks again!
Purchased yesterday (18FEB2025) in a trade deal at my LGS. Gunsmith thought it was to reduce or enhance(?) the trigger "slop" or pre-travel (the distance a trigger will move before reaching 'the wall' of firing). I'd like to know what y'all think before I attempt changing anything. Thanks!
Waited 65yrs to finally round-out my GAGC (Great American Gun Collection) with a RIA 5" FS 1911-A1 8-rounder, all black (even the sights), no rail and rubberized grips. Not my only .45ACP handgun, just my first ever 1911!! (undoubtedly not my last either --that story will develop with time)...
