I recently acquired (not through CMP) a 1911 with a Remington slide and a Colt frame. The serial number on the frame would date it around 1942 as would the slide. There are no visible re-ordinance stamps anywhere. There is however "something stamped on the right side of the slide" that is only partially visible. My question is this: how would this happen if not through re-ordinance?
