Need a Solid Gun Safe, Actually Worth It?

Both snakes together. Sometimes they can be more similar to each other because of natural variation. As I have said they are closely related. Water moccasin probably has the more dangerous bite relative to the venom and bacterial infections and tend to grow to be larger. Sometimes they can...

Need a Solid Gun Safe, Actually Worth It?

It is water moccasin. The copperheads and water moccasins are closely being in the same genus. When young they look similar. Water moccasin has a darker head and dark horizontal band back of the eye. We do also have a few copper heads about, but not many. Baby copperhead snakes. Note the...

Need a Solid Gun Safe, Actually Worth It?

Update on the snakes. Last wk i again went out to deal with hanging some wash there was this immature 'cute' water moccasin (cottonmouth) still with the yellow-green tail tip. He/she got impacted by a load of CCI 38 spl #9 shot. We are hitting Nov and I will still keep a .38 in my pocket for...

Best way to set up a paraordnance P14 for buffalo bore +P

I have been listening to Tim Sundles of buffalo bore and he thinks his +P .45 ACP loads are superior to the 10mm even with his 10mm loads for defense against bears. I have a P14. What do I need to do to set it up for his +P .45 ACP loads. The load is listed and this is something that I can...

Need a Solid Gun Safe, Actually Worth It?

I just had to use a pistol about an hour ago. Earlier today I saw a ~3 ft shed snake skin that was not there yesterday; put a snub revolver in my pocket and still had a larger pistol in a bandoleer holster. Anyway it was a warm day today for a change in NW FL and I assume the skin was from one...

Need a Solid Gun Safe, Actually Worth It?

''They would have to find mine before trying that.(they are well hidden and secured)'' This is most important and what a locksmith told me was the best strategy. One can not rob what is not found.

Need a Solid Gun Safe, Actually Worth It?

Safes do have their place and well it does depend on your domestic and perhaps legal situation, but I always at least have one loaded gun either on me or within immediate reach. If you must have all guns locked up relative to children and local-state legalities I would choose a tiny quick...

Does Dry Firing a 1911 Cause Damage?

I use a plastic bic type ball point on just about any pistol of 9mm or greater size. A wooden pencil will break it sharpened point when it shoots out the barrel and hits something.

Does Dry Firing a 1911 Cause Damage?

I saw it in an NRA issued pamphlet for use with a dot drawn on paper.

Does Dry Firing a 1911 Cause Damage?

I have read of claims with damage to glocks. Typical internet lore ''I know a few competition shooters who have cracked the rear part of the breech face from sustained high volume dry fire (high five digit into six digit, i.e 100,000+ reps).''

    Favorite Shotgun

'' suppressor and illegal to own'' Maybe yes and maybe no with it being at the whim of the ATF. Without a letter declaring it not to be, the best thing is likely to destroy it. If one has the money, maybe if it was made of titanium.

a couple of months ago I purchased a case of for very cheap. The loads seem ok. They are not plated. I see that they have gone up in price a bit. It is Turkish ammo If you search around you might get for a lot less. Purchased it for close applications. For coyotes you might want...

    Favorite Shotgun

Many of the combat people are trying to turn shotguns into rifles with super tight groups. And yes there is a place for super tight groups, but if I am not using slugs there is not much use for rifle sights on a shotgun.
