Favorite Shotgun

My favorite shotgun is the Model 12 Winchester, especially the pre-war guns. I appreciate a fine double gun also and I own a few 870 Remingtons but IMHO Winchester had it right when the called the M12 "The Perfect Repeater".
My restored model 12 is dated 1928. Almost 100 years old and it still sees some days on the clay birds.

Really like the model 12's, one of these days I'd like to pick up one, an old Wingmaster with the shiny glossy finish, I do have which I forgot about is a Beretta 1200 fp, , need to get it out and shoot it. The model 12's and Wingmasters in very good to excellent shape fetch a pretty good penny on Gunbroker

My dad had the local Western Auto store when I was in the 3rd grade up through senior in high school, house brand was Revelation, I bought a 16 ga Revelation pump year or so ago at a local auction, haven't shot it yet, dirt cheap and brought back some memories, first gun a Revelation 20 ga single shot, gave that to oldest son, 2nd gun a 22 Remington semi auto went to 2nd child, youngest son, gonna give my baby girl(38)my dad's 22 Hi Standard revolver so they each will have something with some family history

I have several......3 870's, one Beretta 1301, 12 gauge SKB O/U, FN SLP 12 gauge, one 870 with 14 inch barrel (SBR'd), a Dickson/Falcon 10 gauge double barrel for "large" ducks and geese. Just picked up a Mossberg 590 that was a "LESS LETHAL" 12 gauge that a local police dept. had traded in to my local PD trade-in store. They traded in 250 identical Mossbergs so they do have plenty of them. I took off the orange and black stock and installed a Magpul SGA black stock and have some goodies coming for it. All 8 of them in the rack for sale were, IMO, never fired with 12 guage shells, just used for bean bag operations. Mint receivers and barrel bores....and each one of them is priced at $325. Several of my 870's were police trade-ins from the late 70's with wood furniture and superb milled receivers and the slickest racking shotguns I've tested. The Mossberg is nice but it will take some time for it to approach those old Remington's. My favorite is the old 870 with the 14 inch barrel. It's got a nice spread with 00 buck and damned accurate with slugs.

One of these days gonna pick up an old 870, glossy finish, that white nylon spacer between butt plate and sock, also on bottom of grip, such an iconic looking pump, a real shame big green gone. Speaking of SKB, if I've mentioned this somewhere forgive me, my dad won't from Western Auto to Otasco(Oklahoma Tire and Supply Co.)I ordered an SKB SxS, this late 70's, Pop thought time to start getting credit started, shotgun 185 bucks, ordered an Ithaca, markings said Ithacagun made by SKB Japan, financed it with GE credit, payment $18.00 a month, such a great double barrel, loved it! Early married days money tight, first kid an all, sold for 400, the one that got away ‍♂️Today $2;500.00 give or take, I still kick myself once it twice every few months over that one.
